Pete

Hi folks, a reminder that there is no beginners uke this week as the ‘Ukelectics’ have a recording session on this Wednesday night…I know, rock stars right?

Anyway, no beginners this week then it’s on again next week but not the week after. I’ll be in sunny Queensland that week. Then there are no more Wednesday night engagements for me in the foreseeable future

The dates for beginners uke are May 18th, June 1st & 8th

Here’s some stuff to support what I was talking about re 12 bars last week. Don’t let the roman numerals freak you out. There is a method to my madness re the coloured chart which I will explain.

For those of you who couldn’t make it last week – I suggested that this simple progression of chords is a really worthwhile piece of info to try and get you head around and learn by heart. As there are hundreds if not thousands of songs that follow this pattern. We are all really familiar with this form. We have been listening to it all our lives. Even if we don’t know it

Here’s a suggestion. Why not zed chord along to these tunes and see if you can start to hear the spots where the chord changes are

12 bar variations

HOUND DOG = 12 BAR

Here are some more examples of song that follow the 12 bar progression. Have fun and I’ll see you in a weeks time. Pete

New Beginners Group

Hi folks, I’ve finally found time to start a beginners group.
I understand that the two regular groups move along a bit to fast for most beginners now and there is probably a need for this
So if I can get enough interest, I’ll run a beginners before the 6.30 group on Wednesday night
For those that pick it up quick they can just move across to one of the more advanced groups if they like and vice verse

So let everyone know. Share this groovy little picture about
